How PEX Installation Works
PEX comes in continuous coils rather than rigid lengths, which lets your plumber often run a single piece of pipe from the manifold to a fixture with far fewer joints than copper would require — and fewer joints means fewer potential points of failure. Connections are made using crimp rings, push-fit fittings, or expansion fittings, each creating a secure, code-compliant seal.
Because PEX can flex around corners and through tight spaces, installation often goes faster than rigid pipe, especially in retrofit situations where fishing new lines through existing walls is necessary. Your plumber will pressure-test all new connections before considering the installation complete, confirming there are no leaks anywhere in the new lines.
